Quirky Detective

I’ve been tagged (i think this is the correct terminology – as the ‘minimalist chic’ of this here blog shows, I’m not exactly au fait with Cutting Edge Trends in Technology. I don’t even have a computer at home. This may go some way towards explaining irregularity of posts etc etc) by Trish at Trish Hunter Finds to reveal six unspectacular quirks about myself.

The rules are as follows:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on yer blog (do you reckon this one is like writing ‘make to-do list’ on your to-do list so you can cross it out immediately? it’s possible)
3. Describe 6 of your most unspectacular quirks
4. Tag 6 bloggers to undergo the same process by linking to them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs to tell them they’ve been tagged
6. Insert ultra-hot dalek image into post

Okey dokey, here goes nuthin’:

1. I love karaoke like Jocelyn Wildenstein must love making her face look like it’s vaccuum sealed in clingwrap. I am a shameless karaoke hound. Seriously. As proof of this, I fully admit that I have been known to a) break into improvised dance routines during those painful ‘43 second guitar solo’ moments b) rap, publically and c) select songs which totally decimate any street cred i may have had (no great loss there) such as (but not limited to) ‘Bitch’ by Meredith Brooks. Ouch.

2. I secretly love exercise Until I was nineteen I never exercised. I thought it was impossible and avoided it in a number of interesting and creative ways, (oh, the excuses that I and my fellow nerds would come up with to get out of swimming and gymnastics…). But in second year uni I hit the gym and haven’t looked back. People are always surprised by this (you? in a gym? seriously?) but i am a total convert. PS Best song to run to, ever, is ‘Touch the Sky’ by Kanye West. See no. 3.

3. I secretly love Kanye West. No elaboration necessary.

4. I was in the Victorian Children’s Choir. We sang on stage with Darryl Cotton. My mum thought it was pretty cool. I also did many, many years of ballet and wore many, many ridiculous 90s-tastic costumes, usually made out of lycra, taffeta and badass.

5. I am related to the original Uncle Fester. No joke. He was my grandmother’s cousin. Can my love of vintage be traced to watching old episodes of the Addams Family and trying to spot a family resemblance? Possibly. PS When the beau’s dad and stepmum found out about this family connection they were all like ‘yeah, that’d be right’. Burn.

6. I can’t stand it when people turn on electric lights despite the fact that it’s broad daylight outside. Unless you’re trying to read a small print bible or something. Seriously, why do people do this?

Anyway, the next part of this tagging thang is that I’m supposed to pass the tag on…but I have to get off this computer el pronto (a queue is a-forming), so I’m going to have to forfeit both forwarding the lurve and pasting the awesome dalek picture into this here post. Oh well, valiant effort has been made etc etc. Anyone with a quirk to share should do so if they can. Out-quirk me if you dare!

“I am related to the original Uncle Fester.”

Also, i’m sure everyone who reads this looks up at their lights to make sure they haven’t accidentally got theirs on after reading this haha. I certainly did but luckily didn’t.
